Worcester food manufacturer Table Talk Pies has named Isaac Long as its new president, effective immediately. He takes over for Harry Kokkinis, a third-generation leader of the company who will become executive chairman. Table Talk was founded in 1924 by Kokkinis’s maternal grandfather and his business partner, both Greek immigrants. Long has been in a relationship with Table Talk as a strategic advisor for several months, according to a Tuesday release from the company. Jared from Brighton sent on a great find:  His curiosity about a building in his neighborhood led to this piece of Table Talk history. This building permit is for a sign that was installed at 12 Griggs Street in Allston in 1958, the location of a former Table Talk outlet. It looks a lot like the one that was at Green Street for many years ago.

Cold storage contractor Tippmann Innovation of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is constructing a -10°F freezer warehouse that maximizes energy efficiency, according to the companies. The freezer sits adjacent to Table Talk’s 150,000-s.f. manufacturing facility, which will enable the facility to streamline the production and distribution processes. By a unanimous vote, the three-member committee approved a tax-increment financing deal for the redevelopment of parcels at 25 Southgate St. and 17 Southgate Place, which is where the $4.6 million Table Talk building will be constructed.
